Does your synthetic kitchen sink swallow water very slowly? Then it is very likely that the pipe connected to it is clogged.
The cause? Grease and food scraps that we dispose of through the sink bowls and that we regard as something entirely routine.
However, in most cases, it is not really necessary to seek the help of a plumber. There are countless home remedies that will save us unnecessary expense and lost time.
We can use typical products such as hydrochloric acid, caustic soda or certain types of ammonia. However, it should be borne in mind that these are aggressive products that can damage our pipes.
Some home remedies
And now is when we are surprised by some home remedies that we would never have thought could be effective for unclogging them:
- Baking powder or bicarbonate and vinegar.
Prepare half a glass of baking powder and half a glass of vinegar. At the same time, fill a pot with boiling water and salt. First pour in the baking powder, then the vinegar and, after 15 minutes, pour the boiling water down the sink.
- Coca-Cola.
Although it may sound somewhat strange, this is a fairly effective remedy. It consists of pouring in one or two cans of previously shaken cola and letting it work. The results are frankly surprising.
- A pot of hot water with salt at least every 15 days.
Do they work? If not, perhaps you do need the help of a professional to effectively unclog your kitchen sink.
