Is it really necessary to include an ironing room? The answer is simple: if we have the space for it, why not? This room can be very useful for keeping all our clothes in order at all times.
The ideal ironing room should include a washing area y its corresponding sinka sewing table, space for storing cleaning products in an orderly manner and clothes already folded and ironed, and an ironing area with all the essential elements.
In this way, the task of washing and ironing will be much more bearableand it will allow us to keep all our clothes in one single space, which will help to maintain order throughout the rest of the house as well.
How to place the furniture
If we have a room with a window, the ideal thing is to place the washing area next to it – sink, washing machine and dryer in the same spacealong with the laundry baskets.
Next to the washing area, we could place closed cabinets where we can store, for example, household linen and incorporate pull-out shelves next to the cabinet on which to place clothes that have just been ironed. We could consider having as many shelves as there are members in our family.
For its part, the sewing area should have hanging rails for freshly ironed shirts or garments, and all the clothes we still need to sew. As for the ironing board, it should occupy the central area of the room and be equipped, for example, with baskets for the clothes we have to iron and a folding board for ironing.
Of course, the board should be suitable for our height and have a powerful light source so that we strain our eyes as little as possible.
Are you up for it? 🙂
