You have probably seen country kitchens at some point, whether in photographs or on the big screen, with a marked rustic style, a large marble worktop and also a large kitchen sink, standing out mainly for their comfort when preparing a meal. But did you know that it is possible to bring that vintage style into our city kitchens?
The available space
To begin with, and if possible, it would be necessary to have the same kind of space these kitchens enjoy, which would allow us to install a large worktop, a central island with wheels and a large number of cupboards, drawers, shelves or rails for storing everything we need. The main aim? To achieve an absolutely comfortable workspace where we can keep all the necessary utensils at hand.
The right elements
From here on, the choice of elements such as appliances – especially the extractor hood (which can be built-in) and the oven (how about having two side by side? One gas and one electric?) – should have the vintage style we are looking for; without ever neglecting the needs of those of us who use today's kitchens.
Then come all the details that will finish shaping our country-style kitchen: aged oak furniture, for example, which not only adds warmth but also a very up-to-date feel; ceramic and wooden wall coverings; and a large double-bowl sink placed under the window to make the most of natural light during cleaning tasks.
Does it convince you? Then go for it!
